The Myobrace® System is a preventive pre-orthodontic method that treats the underlying causes of crooked teeth. What’s revolutionary about Myobrace is that it eliminates the need for braces or teeth extraction and allows for the natural growth of the teeth. Myobrace involves a series of removable intraoral appliances that are worn for a couple hours every day and while sleeping. This treatment is best suited for children of 3 to 15 years olds.

What Does a Myobrace® Treatment Involve?

Typically, a Myobrace® procedure consists of four stages: habit correction, arch development, dental alignment, and retention.

Habit Correction

The dentist will train the patient to breathe through the nose instead of the mouth, rest the tongue in the correct position, and swallow properly. This will give the child the best chance to grow their jaws properly and eliminate the need for braces later on.

Arch Development

Arch development might be required to widen the child’s upper jaw, allowing enough space for the teeth to grow and tongue to rest.

Dental Alignment

When the last permanent teeth are erupting, the dentist will use Myobrace®for Teens to align the teeth into their natural position. Myobrace® appliances must be worn every day and overnight while sleeping.

The final stage is retention to ensure the patient maintains good oral habits. Once the braces are removed, a retainer is required to prevent future relapse. If the patients follow these steps properly, they can achieve stable orthodontic results and great dental health.
